   - The following work processes can be
      carried out on the class 3801 ;
      ~ Pre-gathering sleeves
        (sleeve head)
      ~ Sewing in an interface strip
         (when pregathering)
      ~ Bridle-taping armholes
         (jacket backs and fronts).
   - Sleeves can be sewn both in closed and
      poen states.

   - Machine head PFAFF 5487/5489 with differenti-al bottom feed and top feed and
      a thread trimmer(potion -1/07)
   - Control panel BDF1 with graphic display
   - Memory for 24 sewing programs (models) based on the most common
      international size systems.
   - Servomotor for the infinitely variable application of fullness.
   - Quick-synchro sewing drive with non-wear, cost savint, DC power thechnology,
      without clutch or brake.
   - Tape feeder No. 91-084 381-90 (option) for sewing bridle tapes.

   - For working with bridle tape it is recoommended that the machine be equipped
     with the tape feeder 91-084 381-90.
   - When pre-gathering sleeves while simultaneously sewing in an interface strip,
     a bridle tape is no necessary. In this case it recommended to use the machine
     with therad trimmer(-1/071).
   - It is now possible to sewing sleeves and to carry out the programmed application
     of fullness in one workphase (PFAFF3834-3/11). There are the following reasons
     for pre-gathering with the PFAFF3801:
      ~ The interface strip sewn in when pre-gathering with the 3801 fills out the fullness
      area in the sleeve better and prevents creasing in the front.
      ~ Almost the same amount of time is required as when sewing in directly, because
      in the direct process the interface strip must be sewn in using a separate workstep.
      ~ Shorter training time and low qualification-requirement when subsequently
       attaching the sleeve.
   - With the PFAFF 3801 for pre-gathering and the PFAFF 3834 for sewing in the pre-gathered
     sleeve, you have the perfect, most effective combination in every respect.
